Startup Visa

Startup Visa (Wikipedia page, advocacy website, text of the bill) is a bill pending in the United States Congress that, if passed, would make it significantly easier for startup entrepreneurs and employees of early stage startups to get visas under a new category designated the “EB-6” category. The proposed legislation would not create new visas but simply allow unused visas in the EB-5 category to be used for the EB-6 category.

The Startup Visa enjoys bipartisan support, but is a low legislative priority and has been deferred until such time as comprehensive immigration reform legislation may be ready to be proposed.
