The post is about an award-winning photograph of people in Djibouti , a small country near Somalia , trying to catch inexpensive cellphone signals from nearby Somalia in order to be able to talk with their relatives. The photographer writes: “Speaking to many of them, the stories were always the same: the desire to reconnect to family, asking for remittance or updates on emigration papers from family living in Europe.”
