Kris Kobach (Wikipedia page) is a United States citizen. As of 2012, he is the Secretary of State for Kansas. Kobach is of counsel with the Immigration Law Reform Institute, the legal arm of the restrictionist group FAIR.
Kobach has played an instrumental role in designing Arizona’s SB 1070 law and Alabama’s HB 56 law, both of which ramped up state enforcement of federal immigration regulations by requiring state and local police and government workers to investigate people whom they suspect of being illegal immigrants.
